Highlanders 1-0 Dynamos
Highlander’s fc won the independence cup at Barbourfields stadium yesterday thanks to a second-half goal from Stanley Ngala in the 55th minute.
Highlanders Fc fought hard against traditional football rivals Dynamos Fc to win the independence Trophy.
At 4:00 p.m., the game began.
The victory thrilled Highlanders coach Mandla Mpofu, dedicated the trophy to Bosso fans.
“I’m very thrilled today. It was a tough game, a very delicate game, and the most important thing was to keep the cup here.”
We need to cut our celebrations short since we play F.C Platinum in five days,’ Mpofu explained.
“There are no words to convey how happy I am to have scored such a significant goal”, said Highlanders player Stanley Ngala.
Ngala then put Highlanders in the lead when he hit the roof of the net after connecting a Washington Navaya pass in the 55th minute.
Antonio a Dynamos player was lively on the right wing for the visitors and looked threatening every time he was in possession, tried a spectacular shot from an acute angle in the 15th minute, bringing the best out of Highlanders goal keeper Ariel good Sibanda.
Dynamos coach Ndirayi congratulated Bosso for the success.
It was a sweet win for Highlanders who were playing their first major cup final against Dynamos at Barbour field’s stadium since 2007 when they had last won in 2019 the unhurt cup was not played 2020 because of COVID 19.
