Highlanders Football Club is gearing up for its upcoming elections on February 2, 2025. The club will be voting for two key positions: Executive Vice Chairman and Executive Treasurer. According to Peter Dube, the Elections Returning Officer, only three individuals submitted nomination forms .

The contenders for the Executive Treasurer position are outgoing Treasurer Israel Moyo and Nkani Khoza. Interestingly, outgoing Vice Chairman Sifiso Siziba is the sole candidate for Executive Vice Chairman.

The nomination process closed on January 18, after an advert in The Sunday News called for aspiring candidates to come forward. Dube confirmed that all candidates underwent thorough vetting and met the necessary requirements.

This election is part of the club’s tradition of holding separate elections for continuity. Last year, elections were held for three positions, namely, the Executive Chairman, Secretary and for the Committee Member and this year, the focus is on the remaining two.
