Highlanders vs Dynamos: The Big One

Zimbabwean football powerhouse Highlanders and Dynamos will renew their rivalry when they clash in the Castle lager premier Soccer League match to be played at Barbourfields stadium on Sunday.

The Bulawayo giants would be hoping to complete a double over Dynamos after winning 1-0 in the independence cup on 18 April 2022. Bosso won the tournament courtesy of a goal by Stanley Ngala.

Highlanders and Dynamos shared the spoils in their last league matches. Dembare played a 1-1 draw with Bulawayo City at the national sport stadium, while Bosso played came from 2-0 lead to salvage a 2-2 draw with Bulawayo Chiefs.

Speaking at a weekly press conference held at the highlanders offices , technical manager Mandla Mpofu said this is a must win game and there are no two ways about it.

“We are 14 points away from them but we must take relief and win because they are no 2 ways about it, and let’s look at the positives and channel our energy to this coming game” added Mpofu.

Mpofu also confirmed that Ray Lunga could feature for Bosso this coming Sunday after being sidelined for two months through injury.

Veteran Midfielder Joel Ngodzo will miss the tie through illness, while Adrian Silla is ruled out due to suspension.

Bosso currently sit 11 on the log standings with 16 points while Dembare are at the summit of the log with 30 points.
