After watching his side register two wins in a space of four days, Highlanders technical manager Mandla ‘Lulu’ Mpofu is convinced his boys are motivated and still want to win more as the team intensifies its preparations for the Castle Larger Premier Soccer League (PSL) match against CAPS United on Sunday.
Bosso goes to this NetOne affair oozing with confidence after beating other fellow NetOne sponsored sides Chapungu and Black Rhinos by identical 1-0 scorelines on Wednesday and Saturday respectively.
Mpofu who also announced the return of winger Cleopas Kapupurika from a knee injury at a press conference held at the club office said he was happy with the mood in the camp, adding that his charges are motivated and eager to win more games.
Mpofu who took over from the former Boss Madinda Ndlovu in June is yet to lose a match, drawing two and wining two.He drew with the ambitious Mhondoro side Ngezi Platinum and current log leaders FC Platinum by identical 1-1 scorelines.
The club also registered its third 1-1 draw in the post Madinda era against Manica Diamonds, but Mpofu had not traveled with the team as he was bereaved.
“At this moment considering that we managed to get six points in two games, it can be a motivator. The boys can be motivated and they still want to win more,” Mpofu said.
“These games, when we play CAPS (United), when we play Dynamos, its less work for a coach in terms of motivation. The boys will be motivated playing CAPS,” he added.
“The boys really want to put more than 100%. For us as coaches I think its just psyching them. It’s a plus for every coach when you are going to play such a game,” Mpofu said.
Mpofu who believes Bosso can still navigate its way into a respectable position will travel to Harare without key player Nqobizitha Masuku who has accumulated three yellow cards.
Masuku was booked against Black Rhinos in both fixtures, and against ZPC Kariba.
The technical manager said although it is a heavy blow to go into the match of this nature without Masuku who has established himself as a key piece in the current Bosso setup, the technical team is confident that whoever will be assigned to do duty on Sunday will come to the party.
Highlanders are currently on position nine on the log with 23 points, with a game in hand. They are 12 points behind pace setters FC Platinum, and only seven points behind Black Rhinos and ZPC Kariba occupying position four and five respectively.
