After a rocky start to the season, Highlanders FC finally remembered how to win when they won 4-0 to Herentals FC in the Zimbabwe Castle lager Premier League football match played at Barbourfields stadium yesterday afternoon.

It was a victory for amahlolanyama who were still nursing wounds when they drew 0-0 with relegation threatened Tenax FC last weekend.

Technical Manager Mandla Mpofu named only one change to the side that played a goalless draw with Tenax. Striker Washington Navaya made his way into the starting line up in place of Bukhosi Sibanda.

The Visitors were punished in the first half when Nqobizitha Masuku headed Bosso into the lead after connecting with a perfect cross from the right wing after 16 minutes of play.

Bosso went into half time leading 1-0.

Striker Stanley Ngala scored his debutant goal for the club when he tapped it in after Bukhosi Sibanda hit the cross bar.

Adrian Silla also managed to get his name on the score sheet, Silla took a shot from range to beat the keeper in the nearer post.

Substitute Lynoth Chikuhwa Scored the 4th goal in the dying minute to seal the game.

With Herentals doing most of the defending, they struggled to get a goal despite coming close on different occasions.

Speaking after the match Mpofu, said he was happy with the performance of the boys and they did a marvellous job.

“I am also happy for the game changers Bukhosi, Joel and Lynoth who managed to catch up well”. Said Mpofu.

The way the supporters cheered today was unbelievable it really motivated the players, added Mpofu.

Highlanders will be back in action this coming weekend when they take on Caps united.
