Highlanders FC is set to face Gweru side, Sheasham FC on match day 8 this coming Sunday.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm and will be played at the new home ground of Sheasham FC, Bata Stadium.
During an interview held at the Highlanders offices, Highlander’s technical Manager Baltemar Brito said their main aim is to collect maximum points and maintain their position on the log.
“It’s a new game, but our approach to this game is always the same, we want to collect three points,” said Brito.
Brito also added that Sheasham is a good team that has only lost one game since the league started.
“Sheasham has only lost one game so far, considering that they have not been playing in their home ground, they are arguably one of the best teams this season,” said Brito.
Brito also confirmed that two players will be missing this week’s fixture due to injuries.
“Archford Faira and Ray Lunga will be out of the game due to injuries” added Brito.
Bata Stadium and Colliery Stadium were given the green light by the ZIFA First Instance Body (FIB) to host top-flight games last week. The 8000-seater stadia had been defuncted for close to 30 years before BATA Power shut down. Sheasham has been playing their home games at Mandava Stadium, home of FC Platinum.
Highlanders are currently occupying the top spot on the log with 14 points while Sheasham is sitting on position 12 with 8 points.
