Highlanders FC fans in Beitbridge watched their team in the border town for the first time since Tsholotsho FC was relegated to Southern Region Division One league in 2017.
Coming from an intense physical training conducted at Matopos and Chisumbanje, the team traveled to Beitbridge for practice matches against Beitbridge Select.
Despite the bad state of the Dulivhadzimu stadium surface, Highlanders put some good displays, much to the excitement of the decent crowd which endured the sun to watch their favorite team in action.
The team played two matches which they won 1-0 and 2-1.
New signing Cleopas Kapupurika put a man of the match performance in the first game by keeping the defenders on their toes for the entire match.
He was brought down in the penalty area just 15 minutes into the match, but Patrick Musaka failed to convert the spot-kick, watching his weak effort being saved by the goalkeeper.
Three minutes later Kapupurika beat three defenders from the left wing and unleashed a powerful shot that beat a helpless goalkeeper.
The second match saw Bosso concede a penalty in the opening minutes after Mbongeni Ndlovu had handled the ball inside the box.
The home side converted the penalty and took an early lead, but Mbongeni made restored parity, heading in Brian Banda’s corner kick.
In the second half Prince Dube was hacked down by defenders inside the box, and he stood up and converted the spot-kick to give Bosso a 2-1 victory.
