Fans have received a huge boost ahead of the Sunday Castle Large Premier Soccer League match between Highlanders and Caps United as sponsors of the two sides NetOne Cellular have vowed to pay half the price of match day tickets for all fans buying their tickets using their OneMoney accounts.
The development comes at a time when the Highlanders FC leadership has made a decision to stick to the usual gate charges for the club’s first Castle Larger Premier Soccer League home game of the season.
The Battle of Cities, as matches between Highlanders and Caps United are affectionately known – is the second Highlanders biggest fixture in the local league after the Battle of Zimbabwe.
Against this background, Highlanders usually maximize on such fixtures and hike gate charges to generate revenue.
However, this time around the club will not hike charges, a move that will get a positive response from the fans of both sides.
Gate charges for the blockbuster encounter are pegged at $5 for the rest of ground, $10 for the wings and $20 VIP, setting the minimum entry fees for One Money users at $2.50.
The fans will pay $2,50, $5 and $10 respectively for Rest of Grounds, Wing and VIP respectively and the other half will be paid by NetOne.
Given that this is Highlanders FC’s first home match of the 2019 PSL season, Barbourfields stadium is likely to be full to the brim on Sunday.
