Ndumiso Gumede laid to rest at Inyathi.

Highlanders FC President Ndumiso ‘Yours Truly’ Gumede’s body laid to rest at his rural home in Inyathi Village,Bubi District in Matabeleland North yesterday afternoon.

He died aged 76.
Gumz as he was fondly known, died at Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo last Wednesday, where he was pronounced dead after suffering a short illness.
A multitude of people including the family members, friends, footballers and former footballers, fans, members from various stakeholders and club legends all gathered at his homestead to pay their last respect.
Speaking at the burial of the late veteran football administrator, Ndumiso Gumede’s Sister Ntandoe Gumede, said: “Gumede prepared me for his death. He used to say Maza, when l die you will suffer, give these people my clothes. Thank you to Ndumiso friends, Vincent, Peter Moyo and Luke Mnkandla.All of you are my brother’s .Gumz left me with a wealth of friends. When l see you guy’s l see my brothers.”
Gumede’s long-time friend Nivart Sango, said: “When Gumede took over the Bosso chairmanship ,he advocated that the club rent offices from cabs but after a while he resolved that owning their place was key hence the initiatives to acquire the club house ,club offices and Luveve camping house as well as buses from the then West Germany”.
Gumede is survived by five children, three boys and two girls, four of his children are outside the country with just one in Zimbabwe.
The death of the late Ndumiso Gumede football administrator has come as a shock to the football family and the nation as a large.
