Bosso aims to switch off Kariba power

Highlanders will be looking nothing short of a victory when they lock horns with ZPC Kariba in a Castle Lager Premiership Soccer league match to be played on Saturday.

The Bulawayo side will travel to Kariba where they have not harvested any fruitful results in their visits.

With the players knowing what is at stake, they will be out to change ZPC Kariba’s dominant record against them when the game kicks off at Nyamhunga Stadium. The Kariba side have been a hard nut to crack for Bosso ever since they made their debut at the Zimbabwean top flight football.

In 2019 ZPC Kariba completed a double over Bosso, beating Highlanders 2-0 at Nyamhunga stadium and winning 2-1 at Barbourfields stadium.

Highlanders’ first victory against ZPC came after three years since their opponents were playing in Premier League. It was in 2016, courtesy of Adrian Silla’s solitary goal which was the difference in front of an almost fully packed Barbourfields Stadium.

It has not been a good run for Amahlolanyama in recent months, but the new era promises to be a little glance of light at the end of the tunnel.

Speaking at a weekly Conference held at the Highlanders offices interim Manager , Joel Luphahla said he is certain that the boys have come to the party and senior players are trying to pull together the team so as to get the result .

“The boys have put up a good fighting spirit at training, am very confident that we will collect the maximum points” added Luphahla .

The match is scheduled for an early kick at 13:00.
