Highlanders FC will face off with Chicken Inn FC in the Bulawayo derby that is to be played on Good Friday.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm.

Speaking at a weekly press conference held at the Highlanders offices, technical Manager Baltemar Brito said the boys were now focusing on their next challenge.

“The boys managed to prove themselves in last week’s match against FC Platinum and we were able to break the 9-year jinx.

“We now need to focus on our next challenge, Chicken Inn FC which in my opinion will be more difficult than FC Platinum because derbies are derbies and it is a small preparation week but l know we will be ready and we will give it our best,” said Brito.

In their last league meeting, the two teams played a 2-all draw at Barbourfields Stadium.

Bosso goes into this fixture having collected maximum points against the reigning Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions, FC Platinum. Bosso beat FC Platinum 2-1 in a victorious win which saw Highlanders break a nine-year jinx. The first goal came from Stanley Ngala in the 26th minute and the second goal came from Peter Muduhwa both in the first half.

The Gamecocks go into this tie having played a goalless draw against Cranbourne Bullets FC.

Currently, Highlanders FC is sitting in position three with a total of seven points on the Premier Soccer League table while Chicken is in position six with five points.
