“Highlanders has not performed well against FC Platinum in the past years, but that’s all in the past now, we want to break that record.
“I am ready for the game on Sunday and to meet our fans for the first time at home this season,” said Brito.
Darlington Mukuli who was also present at the press conference said the win against Black Rhinos lifted their morale.
“Our previous win away to Black Rhinos was a good confidence booster as we head to the clash against FC Platinum on Sunday,” said Mukuli.
Both Highlanders FC and FC Platinum go into this match after winning their second matches of the 2023 season. Bosso picked their first 3 points of the season when they managed to edge Black Rhinos by a goal to nil courtesy of McKinnon Mushore, which was his first goal for the club. This was Highlanders’ first Castle Lager Premier Soccer League win against Black Rhinos in Harare since 2017.
FC Platinum collected their second win of the 2023 season when they beat Cranbourne Bullets 1-0 at Mandava Stadium.
Highlanders have gone close to ten years without beating FC Platinum in a league match, Amahlolanyama last collected three points against FC Platinum in August 2014 when they won 1-0 at Mandava stadium.
Last season, Bosso managed to fight back into the game from 2-0 to 2-2 in the 90th minute of the game when Washington Navaya headed in Bosso’s second goal but Walter Musona’s free kick in the dying minute of the game was a dagger to the heart of Bosso as they ended up losing the match 3-2.
