Highlanders picked first away win of the season when they triumphed 3-2 over Yadah FC in a Castle lager Premier soccer league match played at the National Sports stadium on Friday afternoon.
Bosso ended their win less streak away from home, spanning over 32 league matches. Highlanders shrugged off their tag as poor travelers by securing a win over the Miracle Boys.
Before the win over Yadah, Highlanders had lasted victory away from home on 22 July 2018 when they defeated Triangle United at Gibbo stadium.
Ray lunga found the opening goal for Bosso when Washington Navaya delivered a threatening ball into the penalty box which Yadah failed to clear .Navaya found the second for bosso when lynoth Chikuhwa delivered a beautiful cross into the box.
Chikuhwa put Bosso in a commanding position after scoring his seventh for the season just five minutes into the second half to put Bosso 3-0 clear.
Highlanders led the miracle boys 3-0 until 76 minute when Yadah found a consolation goal. Yadah scored 2 quick goals but Bosso held on for Victory.
Speaking after the match Highlanders assistant coach Joel Luphahla said he was impressed by the performance of the boys.
“we knew it was not going to be easy , the boys worked hard going into this tie , as the Highlanders family we are very happy for the 3 points that we collected , the boys relaxed after going 3-0 but am happy we managed to collect maximum points away from home” added Joel Luphahla.
The win lifted Bosso from sixth position into the top as they now have 41 points
