Head Coach Kelvin Kaindu acknowledged the importance and significance of the Chibuku Super Cup ahead of the team’s match against Green Fuel this coming weekend.
Speaking to the media at a press conference held at the Club offices today, the gaffer revealed that the Chibuku Super Cup gives the winners leverage to compete in the Confederations Cup.
“If you are winners, you are definitely given the opportunity to represent the country on an international stage, and that is the CAF Confederations Cup. So, there is a lot at stake, and also the prize money is huge” said Kaindu.
The two teams previously faced off in a league match at the Green Fuel Arena and it ended 1-1.
Furthermore, Kaindu provided an update on players’ injuries.
“Marvin Sibanda picked up a knock, and we are yet to get feedback from the team doctor. Archford Faira also had a slight injury on Sunday against Ngezi Platinum Stars, although he managed to do light training yesterday. We will assess them in the coming days to see if they are available for selection on Sunday” said Kaindu.
Kaindu appealed to the fans to come in numbers and support the team.
