The Chibuku Super Cup first round match between perennial rivals Highlanders and Dynamos which was initially slated for the National Sports Stadium on Sunday has been moved to Rufaro Stadium, Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed.
PSL had initially settled for the National Sports Stadium as the venue for the flagship fixture, but the decision was reversed on Thursday afternoon.
Dynamos who have struggled to produce positive results at National Sports Stadium will be relieved by the decision, but they know that their nemesis Highlanders who have beaten them twice this year, can beat them at any venue.
Bosso beat Dembare 2-0 at National Sports Stadium in the final of the Independence Cup in April, courtsey of beautiful second half goals by Bukhosi Sibanda and Tinashe Makanda, before the Bulawayo giants romped to a 1-0 league victory at Barbourfields stadium in July.
Former Dynamos winger Cleopas Kapupurika came back to haunt his former club, scoring the only goal of the day.
While Dynamos will be pinning their hopes on home advantage, Bosso goes to the match motivated by the fact that the last time the two sides met at the same venue Highlanders emerged 1-0 victors through an Ozias Zibande strike.
Highlanders are also coming from a convincing 3-1 win over Bulawayo Chiefs.
Last season Highlanders was knocked out in the second round of the competition at the same venue by eventual runners up Harare City by a 2-0 scoreline while Dynamos were knocked out by eventual champions Triangle FC.
