Highlanders Royals Triumph Over MSU Queens in Zimbabwe Women’s Soccer League Match

In a thrilling encounter on June 29, 2024, Highlanders Royals secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Midlands State University (MSU) Queens in Match Day 8 of the Zimbabwe Women’s Soccer League which was played at MSU ground.

Captain Mitchel Guri led the charge, scoring the opening goal in the 9th minute. Sisa Ndebele and Sithandweyinkosi Magara combined to set up Guri for her second goal in the 36th minute, giving the Royals a 2-0 lead at halftime.

MSU Queens pushed hard in the second half, but Lindokuhle Mkhwananzi’s solid goalkeeping denied them until the 57th minute, when they finally scored a consolation goal. However, Guri completed her hattrick just three minutes later, sealing the win for the Royals.

Coach Admore Sibanda was pleased with the team’s performance.

“The girls were outstanding today! They’ve been showing great form lately, but have been struggling to find the back of the net. Thankfully, they finally clicked and delivered the goals we’ve been waiting for” said Sibanda.

The Highlanders Royals are set to face off against Conduit Soccer Academy from Guruve in their next match. and the Bosso ladies are determined to put up a fierce fight and secure all three points. With their sights set on victory, the Royals will be looking to build on their recent success and maintain their momentum in the league. It promises to be an exciting encounter, and the Bosso ladies are ready to give it their all and come out on top.
